William A. Hickey

I am a lawyer who answers his own phone, and if I am in court or with a client I return calls promptly. Being a solo practitioner enables me to provide clients with individual attention at reasonable fees. This means that I will take the time to get to know you and understand your needs, concerns, and goals. I will give you and your case the personal attention and aggressive representation you deserve.

I have represented clients around the country in complex disputes, and am committed to bringing to your legal problems my skills and experience as a large-firm litigator, with the individual attention that comes from working with a smaller firm.

I spent the first years of my legal career at some of the nation’s best law firms. Out of law school, I was an associate in the national firm of at Cooley Godward and went on to be a senior assistant district attorney for the City and County of San Francisco. Just before starting my own office, I was of counsel to Hanson Bridgett in San Francisco, CA, one of the Recorder’s “California 40” legal firms and prior to that a partner at Trucker Huss, also in San Francisco.

I am past President and a current board member of the County Bar Association Solo & Small Firm Section, and write and lecture on legal issues.
